P6 Science March Holiday Programme
$450.00
This March Holiday Programme provides Primary 6 students with focused consolidation of key MOE syllabus themes under Systems, Cycles, and Energy. Structured as a 5-lesson series, the programme strengthens conceptual understanding, sharpens scientific explanation skills, and builds confidence in handling higher-order open-ended questions commonly tested at upper primary level. Each session integrates clear syllabus-based content with structured answering strategies to prepare students strongly for upcoming weighted assessments.
Lesson 1 – Body Systems: Respiratory & Circulatory Systems
Students begin with the Systems theme, focusing on the Respiratory System and Circulatory System. The lesson emphasises understanding the functions of major organs, the process of gas exchange, and how the two systems work together to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body. Students practise explaining processes clearly and linking structure to function using precise scientific terminology.
Lesson 2 – Photosynthesis & Respiration
This session deepens understanding of Photosynthesis and Respiration under the Systems and Cycles themes. Students learn the conditions necessary for photosynthesis, the role of chlorophyll, and how food is produced and used in plants. Emphasis is placed on comparing both processes, understanding their relationship, and answering explanation-based questions accurately.
Lesson 3 – Reproduction (Humans & Plants)
Students consolidate concepts in Reproduction, covering human reproductive systems and stages of development, as well as plant reproduction involving pollination, fertilisation, and seed dispersal. Focus is placed on sequencing processes correctly, understanding functions of reproductive parts, and constructing complete open-ended responses with scientific precision.
Lesson 4 – Water Cycle
Under the Cycles theme, students review the Water Cycle, including evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. The lesson emphasises understanding the role of heat from the Sun, changes of state, and movement of water between Earth’s surface and the atmosphere. Structured explanation techniques are reinforced to ensure clarity and completeness.
Lesson 5 – Electricity
The programme concludes with Electricity under the Energy theme. Students revise components of electrical circuits, differences between series and parallel circuits, and factors affecting brightness of bulbs. Emphasis is placed on analysing circuit diagrams accurately, predicting outcomes, and explaining observations using correct scientific reasoning.
