P6 Mathematics March Holiday Programme

$450.00

This March Holiday Programme provides Primary 6 students with focused consolidation of advanced MOE Mathematics problem-solving strategies. Structured as a 5-lesson series, the programme strengthens algebraic reasoning, model-based techniques, and higher-order thinking skills required at upper primary level. Each session integrates syllabus-based concepts with systematic methods to help students tackle complex, multi-step word problems with clarity and confidence.

Lesson 1 – Assumption / Number x Value

Students learn to apply the Assumption method and Number × Value strategy to solve word problems involving two unknowns and total values. Emphasis is placed on identifying relationships, making logical assumptions, and adjusting values systematically. Students practise presenting clear working and verifying solutions accurately.

Lesson 2 – Simultaneous and Substitution / Substitution in Fraction-of-Fraction

This lesson strengthens algebraic reasoning through Simultaneous concepts and Substitution, including application in complex fraction-of-fraction scenarios. Students learn to represent relationships clearly, simplify expressions accurately, and solve layered problems step-by-step. Focus is placed on precision, logical flow, and structured presentation.

Lesson 3 – BCA Difference at the start / Simultaneous and Substitution in BCA / BCA 2 tables

Students tackle advanced Before–Change–After (BCA) problems involving difference at the start, simultaneous reasoning within BCA structures, and two-table comparisons. The lesson trains students to analyse comparative information carefully, construct accurate models, and solve multi-step scenarios systematically.

Lesson 4 – Patterns

This session consolidates Number and Figure Patterns at upper primary level. Students learn to identify governing rules, analyse relationships between terms, and generalise patterns logically. Emphasis is placed on structured reasoning and clearly explaining pattern rules in written solutions.

Lesson 5 – Area and Perimeter

The programme concludes with consolidation of Area and Perimeter, including composite figures within Primary 6 syllabus scope. Students revise formulas, interpret diagrams accurately, and apply concepts to solve multi-step geometry problems. Focus is placed on distinguishing clearly between area and perimeter, correct unit usage, and structured working presentation.
