P5 Science Internal Assessment

We are opening our P5 Science Internal Assessments to a limited number of external students.

This programme offers a structured mid-year evaluation, preparing students for the transition to PSLE-level questions through guided practice and targeted review.

At P5, students begin to encounter more complex, application-based questions. The focus is on building accuracy in concept application and clarity in answering techniques.

Programme Structure

Lesson 1

• 45-minute assessment (Booklet A – MCQ)
• 1 hour 15 minutes guided review

Lesson 2

• 1 hour 5 minutes assessment (Booklet B – OEQ)
• Partial review of Booklet B

Lesson 3

• Full review of Booklet B
• Return of Booklet A with overall grading

All scripts are marked by teachers.

Programme Value

Each session builds competence in handling both multiple-choice and open-ended questions, with emphasis on:

• Applying concepts accurately
• Structuring answers clearly
• Interpreting question requirements effectively

Parents may enrol in individual lessons or the full programme, depending on their child’s needs.

At P5, progress is driven by strong conceptual understanding and consistent application. This programme provides a clear checkpoint and prepares students for the demands of upper primary Science.
