P4 Mathematics March Holiday Programme

$375.00

This March Holiday Programme provides Primary 4 students with focused consolidation of key Mathematics topics commonly introduced in Term 1 and Term 2. Structured as a 5-lesson series, the programme strengthens conceptual understanding, sharpens problem-solving strategies, and builds confidence in tackling multi-step word problems. Each lesson integrates clear syllabus-based content with structured modelling techniques to prepare students strongly for weighted assessments.

Lesson 1 – Length, Mass & Volume

Students consolidate their understanding of measurement, including units of length, mass, and volume. The lesson focuses on unit conversions, comparison of quantities, and solving real-world word problems involving addition and subtraction of measurements. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, clear working, and systematic problem-solving approaches.

Lesson 2 – Time, Fractions & Part-Whole Model

This session strengthens concepts in Time and Fractions, including duration, conversion between units of time, and fraction operations within the Primary 4 syllabus. Students are introduced to the Part-Whole Model as a structured visual strategy to solve fraction word problems. Focus is placed on identifying given information, representing relationships clearly, and solving multi-step questions confidently.

Lesson 3 – Excess-and-Shortage & Constant Total

Students learn to solve word problems involving Excess-and-Shortage and Constant Total concepts. The lesson trains students to identify relationships within problem statements and represent them using model drawing. Emphasis is placed on logical reasoning, clear model representation, and step-by-step solution methods to tackle non-routine questions.

Lesson 4 – Constant Difference & Comparison Model

This lesson focuses on problem types involving Constant Difference and the Comparison Model. Students learn how to analyse comparative statements, represent differences visually, and solve systematically using bar models. Structured modelling techniques are reinforced to improve accuracy and reduce careless errors in complex word problems.

Lesson 5 – Area & Perimeter

The programme concludes with consolidation of Area and Perimeter. Students revise formulas for rectangles and composite figures within syllabus scope, practise interpreting diagrams, and apply concepts to real-life contexts. Emphasis is placed on understanding differences between area and perimeter, correct unit usage, and structured working.

Programme Highlights
  • Strengthens model-drawing strategies for complex word problems
  • Builds conceptual clarity in measurement, fractions, and geometry
  • Designed as a focused March holiday consolidation before Term 2
