The O‑Level English Distinction Intensive — One Framework At A Time

$0.00

6 Days. Every Component. One Clear System.

Why Most Sec 4 Students Stay Stuck at Bs and Cs

Secondary English is no longer a subject you can prepare for through good habits alone. The O-Level syllabus today demands university-level critical thinking, precise analytical logic, and the ability to navigate complex texts under serious time pressure. Students who plateau at Bs and Cs are rarely lacking in effort. What they are missing is a system that makes the Cambridge examiner's expectations explicit, teachable, and reproducible.

That is exactly the gap this programme is designed to close.

Meet Joy — English Taught as a Precise Science

Joy holds a Master's in Law, a credential that shapes everything about how she teaches English. Legal training demands precision of language, rigour of argument, and the ability to construct a case that holds up under scrutiny. These are the exact same skills Cambridge examiners reward at the O-Level.

Over 15 years, Joy has developed a predictable, repeatable system for English performance. She does not teach students to write well in a general sense. She teaches them to score, by working backwards from the exact rubrics Cambridge examiners use. Hundreds of students have used this system to move out of the Bs and Cs bracket and into raw Distinctions.

Her approach treats every component of the English paper as a structured problem with a known solution. Students leave each session with actionable frameworks they can apply immediately, not vague advice they are expected to interpret on their own.

What Your Child Will Cover — Day by Day

This is a six-session intensive designed to systematically dismantle the O-Level English paper. Each session targets a specific component, giving your child focused depth rather than rushed breadth.

17 June (Wednesday)  |  Editing and Expository Writing

Students learn to identify and correct grammatical errors with speed and accuracy, then apply the same precision to Expository Writing using structured argumentative frameworks.

18 June (Thursday)  | Comprehension

Students learn to analyse complex passages systematically, locating evidence and constructing responses that satisfy examiner expectations at every difficulty level.

23 June (Tuesday)  |  Narrative Writing

Students are taught to construct narratives that score, using techniques drawn directly from Cambridge marking criteria. Plot, character, and language are treated as scoreable variables, not creative guesswork.

24 June (Wednesday)  |  Summary

Students practise identifying key ideas, eliminating redundancy, and producing summaries that meet the precise word count and point requirements Cambridge awards marks for.

26 and 27 June (Friday and Saturday)  |  Oral Communication

Two dedicated sessions for Reading Aloud and Spoken Interaction. Students learn the specific vocal and conversational strategies that distinguish a Distinction performance from a competent one.

All sessions are held at Bukit Timah Plaza from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

Why Families Choose This Programme

MACRO Academy is the secondary and JC arm of Think Teach Group, the team behind Think Teach Academy, Singapore's specialist PSLE tuition centre that has supported over 10,000 students and maintained an 85 percent distinction rate across subjects.

Many of the families who trusted us through primary school are now navigating the O-Level journey. This programme brings the same philosophy that defined our primary work — precision methodology, small classes, and genuine investment in each student's outcome — into the secondary years.

Joy's programme is not a passive review. It is a structured, high-intensity preparation that demands effort from your child and delivers a clear system in return. If your child is willing to apply what they learn, their grade will reflect it.

Think Teach Group has been featured in The Straits Times, Channel NewsAsia, Lianhe Zaobao, Bloomberg, and South Korea's Educational Broadcasting Network, which flew to Singapore specifically to document our classroom methodology.
