P6 Math December Holiday Programme (2024 cohort)

$275.40$324.00

Our December Holiday Programme is designed to give our P3 to P6 students (2024 cohort) a headstart for the fresh academic year in 2023. Our weekly lessons over 4 weeks place strategic focus on important exam areas to equip your child with the necessary skills and techniques to tackle crucial exam components with ease in 2024!

Based on our analysis of the past year PSLE papers as well as the preliminary examination papers across schools in Singapore island-wide, we have seen an increasing number of area and perimeter questions being tested. In fact, the “killer question” that was the last question in the 2023 PSLE paper this year was an area and perimeter question type that tested students on their ability to form a formula based on how the trapeziums were arranged in the question. Although some of us are less spatially gifted than others, there are ways to conquer area and perimeter question types if your child knows the tips and tricks such as rearranging to form a new figure, or forming a formula based on the dimensions given in the question. These tips and tricks will be taught in the lesson on visualising complex shapes.

When it comes to time-consuming questions, questions related to patterns come to mind. Did you know that there are also tips and tricks for patterns? In this P6 programme, your child will learn the box-and-arrow technique that is unique to Think Teach Academy. After the programme, they will be able to identify patterns that involve a constant difference at regular intervals and constant difference at alternate intervals and apply the box-and-arrow technique to solve. It is a foolproof method for those of us who struggle with pattern questions and guarantees that you score marks in the examination. Additionally, they will be introduced to square numbers and will be taught how to tackle patterns that involve ascending numbers. These are more complex pattern questions that are bound to challenge your child and have them emerge as more critical and logical thinkers.

Note: Existing TTA students need not enrol for this programme as it is part of the Foundation Block weekly lessons conducted between Monday and 20 Nov and Sun 17 Dec.
